According to the legal documents filed by the 40-year-old indie rocker, the couple has been separated since August 4, several months before formalizing their divorce. A source close to Moore and Adams said the ex couple has actually been apart for a long time. Meanwhile, a joint statement by the two said they will be separating amicably and respectfully.
The two quietly wed in March 2009, a month after Adams proposed to Moore.
